Welcome to St Francis of Assisi Before & After School Care Association (BASCA).

BASCA is a service provided for the children who attend the school.

During Vacation Care period children and families from the surrounding community may also use the service.

The centre provides care for children from 5 to 12 years.

BASCA Hours

  • Before School Care:7:30am-8:45am
  • After School Care:3:05pm-6:00pm
  • Vacation Care:      8:00am-6:00pm

Management Structure:

St Francis of Assisi BASCA is a non-profit organisation operating under the Catholic Education Office and reports to the Principal of the school and the School Board. The Centre also abides by legislation administered by the Office of Childcare.

Staffing

The centre is staffed by a qualified Childcare Director and assisted by a team of dedicated Childcare Workers. The centre has a 1:11 staff child ratio that is adhered to at all times. These ratios change to 1:8 when on excursions away from the centre.

Fees

Before School Care

Permanent: $8.00

Casual: $9.00      (Includes breakfast/ activities)

After School Care

Permanent: $17.00

Casual: $18.00      (Includes afternoon tea/ activities)

Vacation Care

$35.00 per day   (Excursion days are an additional $15 per day)

Payment of fees

Fees are issued fortnightly.

Payment options by cheque, cash, EFTPOS/Credit Card are payable at the BASCA office. Cheque and cash payments only may be made at the school front office.

Vacation Care fees are paid in full prior to commencement of the program.

Child Care Benefit (CCB)

Families may be entitled to receive a Child Care Benefit. This benefit reduces the Centre’s fees and is calculated on income.  For more information please contact the Family Assistance Office on 13 61 50.

Meals & Snacks

The Centre offers breakfast and afternoon tea and aims to provide a nutritionally balanced menu, whilst attempting to cater for the tastes of all the children.

Please note:

The Centre is a nut free environment.

Program & Activities

The Centre offers a varied program including art, craft, cooking, sport, group games, free play, music/dance and much more.

Behaviour Management

The behaviour policy of BASCA is based of the aims and philosophy of St Francis of Assisi Primary School.

BASCA endeavours to create a safe, loving, happy and caring environment for the children attending the centre.
